It was so easy for him to make her laugh, and he enjoyed her laugh...not that he would tell her that or anything. That would be to flirty for him. They were just friends...even if he hoped for more.

"Beautiful," he whispered in her ear. It was. She might thought she was horrible or just ok, but he thought it sounded beautiful. "Just like you," he whispered again, not caring how straight forward he was. He was a boy and she was a girl. They were childhood friends growing up. There had been lots of songs and movies made about such things as this.
He leaned in to kiss her. He hadn't noticed if she put her hands up to block him, or was allowing him to kiss her. Unless she said something, his lips were going to end up meeting hers.

her face burned with shame. oh, how come he was so cute? how come she couldn't handle it? they were best friends. they were like brother and sister. they were supposed to like each other if they were that close and that the same.

before she knew it, his mouth was closing in on hers. she'd never kissed anyone before---so what was she supposed to do now? close her eyes? lean her head forward? in the movies, the main characters always knew how to kiss, always perfectly. they never seemed to get nervous or something like that. she waited. he would keep getting closer, and sooner or later, they would kiss, right?

she couldn't wait. it was taking to long. she pushed her head up, and tried as gently as she could to press her lips against his. it felt right, nothing foreign like she was kissing a stranger. it was familiar, like kissing herself. it was definitely awkward and was probably dreaming, but still. it was a nice dream.

and she hoped she'd never wake up.

wrapping his arms around her waist, he kissed her. it felt good, and it wasn't a forgien kiss either. it was as if he was kissing his best friend...which, in reality, he was.
finally pulling up to take a breath, he smiled at her, and blushed a little. it was better then i thought it was. he whispered, not letting go of her. she was beautiful and he was handsome. they'd make a great pair, wouldn't they? and your not a bad kisser anyways, miss jones. smiling slightly, he nuzzled his head into her collar bone, smiling at the thought that the two best friends were not dating.

kayla smiled as he nuzzled her. everything felt right. and she was happy. that was good, right? thanks. she said. so now what? she said, changing the subject after the miss jones part. what does this mean? she sighed. she wanted to go out with billy. would that mean they would? or did he just want to kiss her???

he smiled at her. she was so shy at the moment, and it was way cute. everything was going right. i think this makes us a couple, wouldn't you agree? he asked as he kissed her lightly on the lips again. he didn't want to stop, since it seemed to perfect for it to be real. he wanted to stay like this forever. he didn't even notice that the rain had stopped falling.

only if you want us to be, kayla replied, smirking. i think it would be easier to classify ourselves as a couple instead of, 'best friends who aren't dating, but act like they do, she joked, her eyebrows raising. she laughed a bit and smiled against his lips. everything was perfect, and billy was the one person who made it complete.
